Don from this point completely disassembled the car. Every part will come off and be replaced or restored. All moving parts in the front end will be replaced and new disk brakes installed to replace the original drum brakes. When the car is done it will be better than it was when it rolled off the GM factory floor in Atlanta, Georgia.
Don has a hoist that he used to make the frame accessible from all sides. Here you can see it just as Don started cleaning it up. He wire brushed the entire thing to look for rust and damage. When he was done with the wire brushing the frame was down to bare metal and ready for paint.

Don painted the frame in semi-gloss black paint. The paint is designed to go on bare or painted metal and to inhibit future rust. He put 3 coats on to make sure it was covered well and done right.
